Ontario is the straightforward case: the buyer gets the 3-month FSD trial, and referrers keep the full reward set (up to C$325/C$650 plus the C$20 demo-drive credit). None of the Québec or BC carve-outs apply.
No provincial rebate — but federal EVAP may apply
Ontario has no provincial EV purchase incentive right now. The federal EVAP (Electric Vehicle Affordability Program) — successor to the closed iZEV — offers up to $5,000 via a final-transaction-value cap and runs Apr 1 2026 to Mar 31 2031 (funding permitting; purchases eligible from Feb 16 2026). What “no provincial rebate” actually means for your order
It means Ontario has no cushion. In Québec a buyer who misses the federal rebate still has Roulez vert to fall back on; in Ontario there is nothing underneath EVAP. That makes the federal transaction-value cap the single most consequential number in an Ontario Tesla order — and it turns what looks like a styling choice into a five-thousand-dollar decision.
Put the two layers side by side and the ranking is not close. The referral gives a three-month software trial. EVAP gives up to $5,000 in cash terms, conditional on a final transaction value under $50,000 — with paint, wheels and delivery all counting toward that total. An option package that pushes the total over the line costs more than the referral is worth many times over, and unlike the referral, it is a decision you can still change while configuring.

Second, sort your delivery window, because the federal amount steps down each year. Only then attach the referral link, which takes seconds, costs nothing and stacks on top of whatever you land.

What Ontario has instead of a purchase rebate
“No provincial rebate” is often read as “nothing provincial to look at”, and that is the wrong conclusion. Ontario’s EV lever is not a cheque at purchase — it is the price of electricity. The province has regulated time-of-use options, including an ultra-low overnight rate designed for households that charge a vehicle at home, and the gap between overnight and on-peak pricing is where an Ontario EV owner’s money is actually made or lost over the years of ownership.
We are not going to quote your rate, because it depends on your utility and the plan you are on, and those change. What we will say is that switching plan is a phone call with a larger multi-year effect than any one-time benefit on this page — so if you take one action after ordering, make it that one rather than anything referral-related.
Why the Canadian reward is unusually comparable between provinces
Here is a quirk worth knowing if you compare notes with buyers abroad. In Canada the buyer reward is a three-month FSD (Supervised) trial — a fixed period of software. Its value does not move with local electricity prices, so it is worth the same in Ontario as in a province with cheaper or dearer power.
That is not true across Europe, where the reward is denominated in Supercharging distance and is therefore worth more where charging is expensive and less where it is cheap.
