An Ontario Tesla Referral Order, Worked Example (July 2026)
Numbers, not vague promises: here's exactly what a July 2026 Ontario referral order is worth on both sides of the code.

The order: a Model Y, Ontario, July 2026
A buyer in Ontario opens a referral link before configuring a Model Y in July 2026, then completes the order using that code. Here is exactly what each side of that referral is worth, with today’s dated figures — not a vague “save big” promise.
Your verified Canadian referral code
ON · worked exampleWhat the buyer gets
Because Model Y is one of the three eligible models (with Model 3 and Cybertruck), the buyer’s order qualifies for three months of free FSD (Supervised), starting automatically once the car is delivered. There is no separate cash discount and nothing to redeem manually — the trial simply appears in the vehicle’s software menu post-delivery.
What the referrer earns
The person whose code was used earns up to C$325 in Tesla Credits for the completed vehicle referral. If, at any point, the buyer also adds FSD (Supervised) as a purchase rather than only the trial, that referrer reward rises to C$650. Ontario carries none of the Québec or BC exclusions, so both figures apply in full — no demo-drive credit carve-out, no zeroed-out referrer reward.
What the government adds — and does not
Ontario currently has no provincial EV purchase rebate that we have verified — we would rather say that plainly than imply one exists. The federal EVAP (Electric Vehicle Affordability Program) is the incentive layer that can apply instead: up to $5,000 via a final-transaction-value cap, running April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2031, with purchases eligible from February 16, 2026 (funding permitting). Whether this specific Model Y trim clears EVAP’s price cap needs to be confirmed at the time of order — it is separate from, and independent of, the referral above.
Putting it together
For this one July 2026 Ontario order: the buyer walks away with a 3-month FSD (Supervised) trial and, potentially, up to $5,000 off under EVAP if the trim qualifies. The referrer, entirely independently, banks up to C$650 in Tesla Credits if FSD is added, or C$325 if not. Two systems, two beneficiaries, zero overlap — which is exactly why we treat them as separate line items rather than one bundled “deal.”
How the referrer confirms their credit landed
Tesla Credits from a completed referral don’t show up instantly at order time — they’re tied to the vehicle actually being delivered, not just ordered. The referrer’s practical checklist: confirm the order was placed through their link or code (not added after the fact), then watch the Tesla account for the credit once the buyer’s car is delivered. If it hasn’t appeared a reasonable time after delivery, that’s worth raising with Tesla directly rather than assuming the referral silently failed.
If the trim doesn’t clear EVAP’s cap
Nothing about the referral changes if this particular Model Y configuration doesn’t qualify for EVAP’s final-transaction-value cap. The buyer still gets the 3-month FSD (Supervised) trial and the referrer still earns their Tesla Credits — EVAP eligibility is a separate, additive question, not a precondition for the referral to work. Treat the two as entirely independent line items when you’re doing your own math.
