Common Delivery-Day Questions About the Tesla Referral Code

The questions we hear most once a delivery date is actually on the calendar.

Disclosure: referral links use rel="nofollow sponsored". Opening one may earn the code’s owner Tesla Credits; it costs you nothing. We are not affiliated with Tesla, Inc.

Once a delivery date is actually on the calendar, the questions change from "how does the referral work" to "what happens on the day." Here are the ones we hear most, answered plainly and dated.

Does the FSD (Supervised) trial start on order day or delivery day?
Delivery day. The order summary confirms the referral was recognized before you pay, but the 3-month trial itself activates automatically once the vehicle is delivered — not when you place the order.
My delivery date got pushed back. Does that affect my referral?
No, but the timing of both the trial's activation and the referrer's Tesla Credits moves with it — both are triggered by the actual delivery date, not the original estimate. A delayed delivery is not a lost referral.
Could a delayed delivery affect a provincial rebate like Roulez vert?
Potentially, yes — separately from the referral. Roulez vert is scheduled to end December 31, 2026, and the federal EVAP has its own eligibility window (purchases eligible from February 16, 2026, funding permitting). If a delivery slips past a program's own cutoff, confirm current eligibility with that program directly; it is unrelated to whether your referral code works.
What if the referrer's Tesla Credit doesn't show up after my delivery?
Give it a reasonable window after your confirmed delivery date first, since the credit is tied to delivery, not order placement. If it still hasn't appeared, the referrer should raise it directly with Tesla, with the original order confirmation showing the referral was applied.
Do I need to do anything at delivery to claim the FSD trial myself?
No — it's automatic. It's still good practice to check the car's software menu for the trial the same day and keep your order-summary confirmation on hand in case a discrepancy ever needs to be resolved.
Does delivery in Québec or BC change any of this?
The buyer's FSD trial activates the same way everywhere in Canada. What differs: Québec doesn't offer the separate C$20 FSD demo-drive credit, and BC gives the referrer no reward at all on any referral type — both are program rules, not delivery-timing issues.
Is the referral benefit shown as a discount on my delivery paperwork?
No. There's no line-item price reduction on the delivery paperwork or the invoice. The buyer benefit is a 3-month FSD (Supervised) trial that appears inside the car's own software menu, and the referrer benefit is a Tesla Credits balance in their account — neither shows up as a subtracted dollar amount on any document you sign at delivery.

Still not sure what applies to you?

Delivery-day mechanics — the trial appearing in the car's menu, the referrer's credit posting to their account — are the same nationwide. What genuinely differs by province is whether the referrer's side pays out at all, and whether a government rebate is stacked on top of the referral. Those two things are worth confirming before delivery day, not after, since they're set by program rules rather than anything that happens at the delivery center itself.
